Over Four Generations of Sealcoating Wisdom

The Pagni family has been in the asphalt industry for nearly a century. It all started when Dino Pagni became a founding member of the asphalt industry in the Chicagoland area in the 1930s. Dino was the superintendent of the asphalt industry.

Dino believed in paving asphalt the right way, which meant no cutting corners. He made sure his industry always provided the type of services that he would want to receive. He passed this principle down to his son, Dean, who in turn passed it down to our founder, Mike Pagni.

Mike continued the family tradition of asphalt services with integrity by founding Pagni’s Sealcoating in 1987. It wasn’t always easy, and Mike had to overcome many obstacles along the way. But by holding to the family tradition of hard work with integrity, Mike now has a successful sealcoating company, which he’ll hand down to the next Pagni generations.

Our company started from scratch. Mike didn’t have any of the state-of-the-art equipment we have now or a large team to help him. Instead, he learned how to do sealcoating the hard way.

Without powerful blowers to clear off driveways, he had to sweep them clean. Without mechanical agitators, he had to mix the tanks by hand multiple times a day. Still, he put in the hard work and earned a solid reputation in the community as a result.

This strong work ethic has enabled our company to endure hard times, such as recessions, housing crises and even a global pandemic. Like our commercial-grade sealcoating, we persisted through the storm and came out stronger on the other side.
